I found it in a drain pipe.
It was a symbol etched into the wall, shaped like a diamond, but slightly stretched horizontally. From each corner, a line was drawn out at an angle that one could mark as a line of symmetry
It looked so ordinary.
It just looked like someone drew it with a red sharpie.

I just felt drawn to it.
I reached out my hand and ran it along the etched surface, curious of its texture.
It woke up.
The diamond shifted and manifested a line that slid from bottom to top, making it look like the opening of an eye.
A dark pupil stared at me.
I heard a deep voice echo in my head, "I see you."

Suddenly something within me shifted.

I felt my self retract from my own body. It felt like my whole being crunched into a small region in my chest before being pulled out of my back. I yelped as I saw my vision drag out of my back and I saw my own body standing, hollowed out.

The eye's voice boomed in my disembodied mind. "I see you." I was thrown upwards into the sky. I screamed out.

Just like that, I was gone. My whole life was gone.
